The workshop will be an introduction to both theoretical and practical aspects of Ashtanga Yoga. It will provide a solid foundation for those who want to start or who already attended some classes, but would like to learn more about the method.
In the first part of the workshop I will explain the origins of the practice, its basic philosophy and how to integrate yoga into your daily life. You will also have a chance to ask your questions about the method.
In the practical part we will work on the beginning of Primary Series, which is the first and the most therapeutic sequence of the Ashtanga Yoga system. Apart from the poses, you will learn how to connect the breath, the movement, and the point of focus so that your practice will not only develop strength and flexibility, but also focus and the feeling of internal peace.
Workshop «Nāḍi-Śodhana – Introduction to intermediate series», Luzern

In this workshop we will have a look at the Second Series of Ashtanga Yoga. After cleansing the body in the Pirmary Series, Nāḍi-Śodhana is clearing the energetic channels of the body and calming down the nervous system. The sequence works on the channels along our spine – it starts with backbends and continues to deep forwards bends, strength postures and inversions. After a short theoretical introduction we will move through the main poses of the sequence, exploring the alignment and possible preparations for more difficult poses.
Everyone is welcome to join the workshop but a basic understanding of the Ashtanga Yoga method would be advised.
